Police capture New Florence man wanted for allegedly threatening Indiana hospital staff

A New Florence man accused of threatening Indiana Regional Medical Center staff was taken into custody, state police said.

Troopers said 20-year-old Evan James Stewart was arrested Thursday afternoon in White Township, Indiana County.

Police said Stewart was wanted on charges of aggravated terroristic threats after reportedly arguing with hospital staff earlier this week.

Investigators allege that during the argument, Stewart made several threatening statements, including saying he was “going to shoot a doctor.”

Stewart also faces harassment and disorderly conduct charges, police said.

State police are searching for a New Florence man accused of threatening Indiana Regional Medical Center staff.

Police say 20-year-old Evan James Stewart faces felony terroristic threatening charges and is believed to be in the Johnstown area.

Investigators said troopers were sent to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after receiving a report of an incident in the parking lot.

Police said Stewart had just left an appointment at the hospital and made threatening comments to staff, including threatening to “shoot the doctor.”

Authorities said the hospital immediately increased security and an arrest warrant was issued for Stewart.

Police said Stewart was described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, with brown eyes and hair.

Authorities say he is believed to be traveling to the Johnstown area of ​​Cambria County and possibly driving a red Ford Edge.

Troopers say Stewart faces charges of making terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct.
