Police: Warrensburg man sent explicit messages to 15-year-old girl

A Warrensburg sex offender is accused of sending explicit text messages to a 15-year-old girl.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office said Duke N. Barrett, 32, asked a girl he knew for sexual intercourse. The messages were sent over the course of an evening.

Barrett was charged with disseminating indecent material to minors and endangering the welfare of a child. He is a Level 1 sex offender, classified as the lowest risk of re-offending.

Barrett was arraigned in Warren County Central Arbitration Court and remanded to the Warren County Jail for failure to post bail.
