Arrest made in death of elderly Golden Valley woman

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -The Reno Police Department made an arrest Thursday in the death of an elderly woman who died Tuesday in Golden Valley.

William Holland Griggs, 46, was arrested on open murder charges. This claim means that the murder was first or second degree or manslaughter.

Police said they went to the 7000 block of Mustengo Drive, north of Beckwourth Drive, on a report of an elderly woman with a medical condition. The woman was dead.

The Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office determined her death a homicide. This led to an investigation by detectives.

Police have not disclosed the woman’s relationship to Griggs.
