Brevard County Sheriff’s Office to Host 20th Annual ‘Shopping with a Cop’ Event at Viera Walmart on December 14

Brevard County Sheriff helped more than 250 children

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office once again partnered with the Viera Walmart to hold the 20th annual “Shop with a Cop” event on December 14.

More than 275 children had a wonderful Christmas morning at last year’s event, otherwise they might not have had a present to open on Christmas Day.

During the “Shopping with a Cop” event, each child is paired with a Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputy or Corrections Deputy who will walk around the store with them to help them select various items on their Christmas Wish List.

The event is funded by donations made by various businesses and citizens to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Charity Foundation and not only helps others have a wonderful Christmas, but also works to build positive relationships between BCSO and the community.

During the event, our Deputies and many members of our agency volunteer their time to shop with the children, wrap gifts, and even serve treats.
