Corruption charges against Kodwa and Mackay dropped

The pair appeared briefly before the Pretoria High Court on Friday morning.

The former minister was involved in a R1.6 million corruption case and was accused of accepting bribes in exchange for his influence over government IT tenders.

Kodwa says he is ready to get back to work now that he has been cleared of corruption charges.

“I am in the job market. I am available. Since you know I am unemployed, I can become a journalist,” he said.

He speaks to the media outside court.

“I am truly grateful to be speaking to you as a free man. My first responsibility now is to ensure that I am amenable to the activities of the ANC.”
