Kalmar is developing three separate versions of the 9X9:standard, Sport and Leichtbau—but it’s unclear which version was tested here. The car in our spy shots appears to be the same car shown in Monterey, but this is not a customer sample. Our spy shots show that many makeshift elements are still attached to the car, especially the cabin.

The standard 9X9 is both the most comfortable and the most powerful. It is designed for Grand Touring and comes with a turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-6 engine that produces 930 hp. It also comes with a dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system.

The Sport is designed to deliver a more focused experience and features a turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-6 engine tuned to produce 650 hp. This version also has all-wheel drive but skips the dual-clutch automatic and switches to a 7-speed manual transmission. The Sport is lighter than the standard 9X9 and its suspension is tuned for track shaping rather than grand touring.

Leichtbau, which means “light structure” in German option for purists. It simplifies things with a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-6 engine with 530 horsepower, as well as a 6-speed manual and rear-wheel drive engine. It even skips the airbag in its quest to save weight. This special version weighs just 2,810 pounds, while the Sport weighs 2,866 pounds and the standard model weighs about 3,030 pounds.

According to Kalmar, despite being the heaviest, the standard 9X9 offers the quickest acceleration; It takes just two seconds to accelerate from rest to 60 mph. Sport and Leichtbau will achieve the same feat in 3.7 and 3.5 seconds respectively. The top speed for all three versions was set at 330 km/h, and Kalmar said the simulations Nürburgring lap time is less than seven minutes It is possible.

Every 9X9, 993 generation starts as a 911. The cars are stripped down and given various chassis modifications, including a roll cage (hidden in this case) and special suspension developed by Italy’s Danisi Engineering. The brakes are also a custom setup developed by CarboBrake and feature titanium calipers manufactured using 3D printing.
