Police announced that illegal immigrant raped a 5-year-old child

Last week, an illegal immigrant was arrested and charged with allegedly raping a 5-year-old girl on Long Island, New York. The suspect was previously arrested by the US Border Patrol and released to the US.

by Thursday Press release Nassau County Police Department 26-year-old Wilson Castillo Diaz was arrested last Tuesday by Special Victims Squad detectives for “raping a 5-year-old girl.” Nassau County Police Department officials noted that the alleged rape occurred on October 16.

Following the alleged rape, the 5-year-old girl was taken to a local hospital where medical professionals performed an evaluation, according to Thursday’s press release. The Nassau County Police Department press release did not provide details about the illegal immigrant’s relationship with the 5-year-old girl or where the alleged rape occurred.

The Nassau County Police Department press release stated: “Defendant Diaz is charged with Rape 1st Degree, Attempted Rape 1st Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.”

According to Nassau County Police Department officials, Diaz illegally entered the United States in April 2014 near the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. The illegal immigrant was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents; however, Diaz was released in the United States and was unable to attend the hearing in immigration court.

In Thursday’s press release, police officials stated that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was notified after Diaz’s arrest last week.

Nassau County Police Department officials added: “Detectives request that if anyone believes they may have been a victim of this individual, they contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244 TIPS or the Special Victims Team at 516-573-4022.”

Accordingly New York Post Diaz is currently being held on $200,000 cash bond.
