4 juveniles arrested for stealing from cars in Harrison County, sheriff says

BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) – On Thursday, Sheriff Matt Haley announced the arrest of four teenagers on charges of possession of stolen property and possession of a handgun by a minor.

According to Sheriff Haley, Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to South Shadow Creek Drive on reports of suspicious persons in the area.

The sheriff said residents had security cameras at their homes showing multiple suspects wearing dark clothing pulling on door handles and possibly entering vehicles.

While deputies were checking the area, they came into contact with a vehicle occupied by four juveniles. Deputies found several items in the vehicle, including a firearm stolen from unlocked vehicles in the area, the sheriff said.

All four teens were charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a handgun by a minor and were taken to the Harrison County Juvenile Detention Center.

Additional charges are expected as this is an ongoing investigation.

Due to the recent increase in vehicle thefts and the upcoming holidays, HCSO would like to remind the public to bring valuables inside and lock their vehicles each night.
