After working for years in a private law firm, Björn Diemel found success as a lawyer whose most important client was mob boss Dragan Sergowicz. Due to the lawyer’s sordid connection to the criminal underworld, he is considered undervalued in his firm, despite making a significant amount of money from legal fees. Away from work, Björn’s life is no better as he suffers from an inability to manage his work-life balance, leaving him unable to spend time with his wife Katharina and their daughter Emily. Frustrated, the hero enrolls in a mindfulness coaching course to reconnect with his life. His instructor, Joschka Breitner, impresses him so much that he decides to take lessons for the next few months. As a result, Björn’s personal life improves as he learns to prioritize the things that are most important to him: her daughter.

His newfound freedom and bond with his daughter are disrupted one day when a disaster strikes his boss, Dragan. While Björn is on a weekend trip with his daughter, he is called into the office by the mafia leader, where he learns that the mafia leader killed the right-hand man of rival gang leader Boris. When a gang war is about to break out and police investigation into murder On the way, Björn is given the task of solving the situation, no matter how bleak the situation seems. He decides to help Dragan hide by taking him to his villa in the trunk of his car. But remembering some lessons in mindfulness, Björn decides to prioritize the things that are important to him and lets Dragan die in the trunk. He then disposes of the body and lies to the rest of the gang that Dragan is still alive.

To create the illusion that the boss is still around, Björn cuts off Dragan’s thumb and uses it to sign his subordinates’ special missions. Every step of the way, Björn remembers his mindfulness teachings to stay ahead of the game and make sure no one catches his trick. However, soon information leaks out that there is a traitor among the gang: Dragan’s right-hand man Toni. The mafia officer wants power for himself and suspects Bjorn is lying about Dragan going into hiding. He wishes Dragan dead because it serves his agenda so well. Meanwhile, Detective Nicole Egmann is investigating Björn’s credentials and trying to find Dragan through him. Amidst all the backstabbing and vultures surrounding him, Björn confides in Sascha Ivanov, the only sane member of the gang.

Murder Mindfulness Season 1 End: Will Toni Die?

Björn, who has been playing a cat-and-mouse game with Toni for most of the story, must find a way to get rid of her without worrying the rest of the gang about her intentions. Of all the members of the mafia, Toni is the only one smart enough to realize Bjorn’s ruse regarding Dragan’s death. He does not believe that Dragan is alive, as the lawyer insists, which is a correct assumption. However, there is a hidden reason behind Toni’s curiosity; He is the traitor who trapped Dragan into taking the blame for the parking lot murder. He always wanted to avoid Dragan and take control of the entire operation. To this end, he quietly maneuvers within the organization to achieve his goals. This does not pay off, as Bjorn somehow manages to outthink him and has him killed by Boris.

Early in the narrative, the protagonist makes a deal with Boris that eases a tense gang feud between two rival organizations. As part of this negotiation, Björn informs Boris that the murder of his right-hand man Igor in the car park was the result of a plot by a traitor within the group. This gives the lawyer some leeway and appeals to Boris’s calmer demeanor. He tells the hero to catch the traitor by any means possible and take him to the parking lot where the whole fiasco started. Later, Björn develops his tactic to bring Toni to justice; he first finds out the truth behind the backstabbing and then catches him in a cell with Malte, one of his spies. In the final exchange, Boris plants two grenades on Toni and then blows him up behind the toilet.

What will happen to Boris? Is he dead?

Although Björn manages to resolve the issue with Toni, the other challenge he faces is Boris’ insistent desire to meet Dragan face to face after the traitor’s capture. This creates a huge dilemma for Björn because Dragan is dead and has been lying to everyone all along. This also gives him a lot of influence and power over the mafia and the resources needed to combat all threats. Naturally, if the truth about Dragan’s death and his involvement in the murder were revealed, his life would be in great danger. Therefore, the lawyer comes up with another clever but entertaining trick to ensure that Boris does not fall into his trap. He uses Sascha to fly a drone over the car park and convinces Boris that the police witnessed everything, including Toni’s death.

In the ensuing panic, Björn convinces Boris to break into the boot of his car and take him to Dragan’s hideout; Here both mafia leaders can hide in harmony. But this all turned out to be another ploy by Björn, as this was the same way he eliminated Dragan in the first place. The series doesn’t explicitly detail what will happen to Boris, but it’s clear that the easiest way for Björn to resolve the situation is to kill Boris by keeping him locked in the trunk of the car. No matter how funny the whole scene is, this means Boris is Björn’s courtesy. After the murder, the hero must have dismembered him and scattered his remains across the sea, just like he did with Dragan. Therefore, Boris and Dragan become victims of Björn, who proves to be a master killer despite his dislike of violence.

Is Björn the New Head of Dragan and Boris’s Empires?

Over the course of the narrative, Björn becomes regent of Dragan’s mafia empire due to the gang leader’s strange arrangement before the murder. At that time, Dragan built everything by believing that he could trust the lawyer with his life. But this is where mindfulness coaching comes in handy, as Björn puts his own priorities ahead of the needs of others. Shortly after he kills Dragan and dismembers his body, no one knows what the hero had a hand in. Thus, Dragan continues to act as if he is still alive and becomes the spokesman for the gang leader in hiding. Following Boris’ death, he followed suit and became the new president of both empires. It all becomes even more obvious as Boris has another thumb made with his initials.

Thus, at the end of the season, Björn becomes the new mafia leader who works as a lawyer by day and runs the show at night. He’s in a place where he can actually exercise his authority and no one can question it, especially considering how he eliminated a traitor like Toni. He also gained the loyalty of mafia officers of his rank, allowing him to gain greater control over the entire operation. Additionally, Dragan stated that he would lay low for several decades before going into hiding. This gives Björn the opportunity to remain in office without anyone suspecting him. Most importantly, this also gives him the freedom to stay in touch with his personal life and most importantly, his daughter Emily.

Does Nicole Learn the Truth from a Talking Toy?

Amidst all the difficulties that come with dealing with gang issues, Björn also has to manage the situation with the police, especially the efforts of Nicole Egmann. In the final moments of the season, Nicole shares her suspicions about the whole thing, focusing mainly on how her second-in-command, Klaus Moller, was found dead outside his father-in-law’s house. Björn insists that he rest and take some time for himself. She believes him and returns to the police station, where she accidentally triggers the mechanism of a talking toy found in Björn’s car. Nicole is excited to have achieved something important, but the recorded message is very garbled. The show ends with the entire message played to the audience. It contains Björn’s confession about how he dismembered his client to get free.

Although there is a tendency to focus on the first part of the message and how it allows Nicole to restart her investigation, it is unlikely to make any progress. Additionally, it is unclear whether he heard the entire message or just the garbled version. This was a sad situation for him, as he had learned from the very beginning the truth about Björn’s role in Dragan’s disappearance. Unfortunately the clues weren’t clear enough. Therefore, the focus should be on the second part of the message and how it is stated that Björn is free. Considering the lawyer’s life at the beginning of the show and how trapped he feels, it shows how much he’s grown despite the terrible things he’s done to get to that point. He also points out awareness coaching, which is crucial to his success.
