Church says pastor’s wife arrested in connection with husband’s death after he was killed in Africa

DETROIT LAKES, Min. (KVLY/Gray News) – A Minnesota church is in disbelief after its former pastor was arrested in connection with the “violent” death of his wife in Africa.

On October 25, Beau Shroyer, 44, was killed while on a mission trip to Angola with his wife and five children. Lake District Vineyard Church announced.

Shroyer was a former pastor at the church but moved his family to Angola three years ago to become a missionary with SIM USA.

The church announced Jackie Shroyer’s arrest but gave no other details.

A State Department representative confirmed the death of a U.S. citizen and said he was aware of reports that a U.S. citizen had been detained in Angola.

However, they did not share any other information.
