Man arrested in fatal stabbing at FishHawk

LITHIA, Fla.More than a week after lawmakers announced Argument between lawn care worker and postal worker resulted in deathA man was arrested.

Hillsborough County The Sheriff’s Office announced that 60-year-old Mark Calloway was arrested for the stabbing death of 29-year-old Jacob Whitaker.

MPs say They were called to the 5600 block of Tanagerlake Road around 1 p.m. on Oct. 22 for a report of a stabbing.

When they arrived, deputies found Whitaker unresponsive in the roadway with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hillsborough County Fire Department.

Investigators said Calloway and Whitaker got into a verbal argument, which turned physical and Calloway stabbed Whitaker several times.

It’s unclear what the argument was about.

“I cannot imagine the pain this senseless loss has brought to the victim’s family and loved ones. I sincerely hope that this arrest provides them with peace of mind and closure as they continue to suffer,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We will not tolerate this type of senseless violence in our society.”

Calloway was charged with second-degree murder with a gun.

The incident is still under investigation.
