Three more Women’s Development and Empowerment Centers to be opened in Hyderabad

Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender on Saturday gave provisional approval for setting up of three additional Centers for Development and Empowerment of Women (CDEW). These new centers will be opened in the coming months at Choutuppal and Bhongir in Rachakonda commission and Kukatpally in Cyberabad commission.

The development came at the status review meeting of the Safe City Project; here family counseling centres, Bharosa centres, CCTV installations, forensic laboratories and Pelican signals in the State continued to be the main focus.

The police chief also directed the Police Housing Corporation Ltd. to expedite the completion of Forensic Science Laboratory in Nampally and CDEW in Zehra Nagar to enhance infrastructure for women’s safety and empowerment.
