Telangana Government Orders Investigation into Alleged Corruption of Ex-JNTU VC

Hyderabad: The state government, former vice-chancellor of JNTU, Prof. He ordered an investigation into alleged corruption involving Katta Narasimha Reddy. The move, reportedly driven by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, received support from student activists who called for a strict review by a committee led by a sitting judge before a new VC is appointed.

The forged letter, allegedly bearing the forged signature of one of the students, was submitted to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in an attempt to withdraw the allegations against Reddy.

Dharmarapu Srikanth, state secretary of Madiga Students Federation (MSF) Telangana, told Deccan Chronicle: “It is shameful that someone went to the extent of forging my signature to mislead the CMO and cover up corruption complaints against Prof.r Reddy.” .

Serving as VC from 2021 to 2024, Prof. Complaints against Narasimha Reddy focus on allegations of financial misappropriation and abuse of power.

According to the complaint, Prof. Narasimha Reddy and his friends are alleged to have siphoned off funds meant for underprivileged students and engaged in illegal activities that adversely affected the finances of the university.

“They were acting like a pack of wolves plundering the university’s resources. “Even though he is ineligible for another term due to age restrictions, he spends large sums of money and uses his connections to lobby for his return to university,” he said.

Following the decision to appoint an investigation committee, students stated that this would restore confidence in the educational institution.

Another student told this newspaper: “The authorities must conduct a fair investigation, shed light on unethical practices and take strict action against those found guilty.”
