3 people died and 3 were injured after a car fell into a cliff in Reasi, J&K

The accident took place around 12.30 am at Chamalu Morh in Chassana district of J&K’s Reasi district.

Authorities said that three people, including a woman and her 10-month-old baby boy, died and three people were seriously injured when the car skidded on a hilly road in Reasi district and flew into a deep valley.

The accident occurred at around 12.30 on the night between Friday and Sunday in Chamalu Morh in the Chassana region of the district.

The victims belonged to the same family.

“The family was traveling from Malikote to Chassana in a private Eeco car. Prima facie it appeared that the driver lost control over the wheels and as a result the vehicle went off the road and flew into a deep valley,” said a police officer.

“Rescue teams found three people dead, while three others were seriously injured. “They were taken to hospital,” he added.

The deceased were identified as Kulcha Devi (27), her 10-month-old son Neeraj Singh and her nephew Sandhoor Singh (19).

It was stated that the injured were Devi’s husband Chankar Singh (32), her brother Dhunkar (19) and their nephew Ajay Singh (18).

Due to critical injuries, the injured were taken to the government medical college (GMC) and the hospital in Jammu, where their condition was stated to be critical.

The victims were residents of Malikote village in Reasi district.
