Bicycle Taxi Driver Sent Obscene Photos to Doctor After Canceling Trip in Kolkata

Kolkata:

A woman doctor working at a private hospital in Kolkata filed a complaint with the police on Saturday, accusing a practice biker of sending her pornographic videos after he canceled the booking because he was too late, an officer said.

The accused was arrested a few hours after the woman filed the complaint.

He said the accused was slapped with different sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for sexual harassment, which outraged the modesty and criminal intimidation of a woman.

The doctor, associated with a private medical facility in the southern part of the city’s Jadavpur area, left the practice bike from the hospital at 8 pm.

The official said the initial investigation revealed that the app cyclist called the doctor at least 17 times and sent his sexually explicit content via WhatsApp after canceling his booking.

The driver also allegedly threatened her with dire consequences.

“The doctor first filed an e-complaint to the Commissioner of Police and Joint CP Crime. He also sent an e-mail to the cyber cell before lodging a complaint at Purba Jadavpur Police Station,” the officer said.
