Second man arrested in Watertown stabbing

A second person was arrested in connection with the incident Watertown stabbing Last month, investigators said the incident involved three masked suspects.

Omari Cassell, 18, of Newton, turned himself in to the Watertown Police Department on Friday, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan’s office.

He is expected to be arraigned Monday in Waltham District Court on charges of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy.

On October 22, around 5:15 p.m., police responded to Mt. responded to multiple 911 calls regarding a disturbance at a bus stop near Auburn and Boylston avenues. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a man who had injuries to his face and head and two cuts on his back that appeared to be stab wounds.

The victim told police he was waiting for the bus but noticed a vehicle pass by several times before turning the corner. According to authorities, three men wearing masks allegedly got out of the vehicle, asked the man where he was from and then began punching and kicking him.

One of the masked attackers allegedly stabbed the victim twice in the back during the attack, according to Ryan’s office. Two minutes later, authorities said all three masked men fled to their cars and drove away.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

Michael McGhee, 19, of Boston, was the first person charged in connection with the alleged stabbing. McGhee was arraigned on October 25 and ordered held without bail until a dangerousness hearing scheduled for November 6.
