A female student who undressed in public on a university campus in Iran was arrested

An Iranian woman was arrested after she stripped partially naked on a university campus to protest the strict dress code after being physically harassed by security guards for wearing her hijab incorrectly, according to Amnesty International Iran.

Syed Amir Mahjoub, the university’s public relations director, said security guards handed the student over to the police and denied that there was a physical confrontation. He added that the initial investigations revealed that the woman was suffering from psychological distress and serious distress.

Some news outlets had previously reported that the women were arrested by intelligence agents and transported to an undisclosed location.

A local newspaper affiliated with the university reported that he was transferred to a psychiatric hospital.
