After a tough Saturday night for many hay fever and asthma sufferers in Victoria, high or extreme grass pollen levels are expected again this afternoon.

Edwin Lampugnani, the service’s chief operating officer, said Sunday morning that grass pollen counts had been rising steadily over the past 24 hours.

“This peaked around eight o’clock last night when levels reached very significant levels, extreme levels, before gradually falling, but still remained within the extreme band until about 7 this morning,” Dr Lampugnani said. he said.
