Arlo Essential 2nd Gen review – extra resolution, but at what cost?

I thought I’d have fun and name the Arlo Essential 2K Outdoor Security Cameras ‘Fred’ and ‘Doris’. This was mainly because the ‘Person detected on Fred’ and ‘Animal detected on Doris’ alerts made me laugh. You may be less ridiculous than me and want to give your cameras more boring names (and perhaps locations). I don’t judge.

Of course, I had to download the Arlo Secure app to use and name them, and pairing the app with the devices wasn’t easy. Holding down the camera’s button until the light flashed did not guarantee that it would pair. Oddly, pairing was much easier when I took each camera upstairs separately and tried this, so maybe having two cameras in front of it was confusing the app?
