Inspectors report on Troon’s Granny Smith Nursery School

A. Troon The nursery was given a clean bill of health following an unannounced spot check on its service delivery.

Granny Smith’s Day Care, town Ayr Street, It was rated ‘very good’ on two quality indicators and ‘good’ on the other two.




The ratings come from the Care Inspectorate, which made an unannounced visit to the setting in September and has now published its findings.



Among the Maintenance Inspectorate’s main messages was that the staff’s approach was “warm and understanding”.

“Positive relationships” between staff and children supported children feeling “safe and valued”.

Their planning approach was “sensitive” and “took into account” the needs and interests of most children. The care review board said it “supports” children to manage their own play and learning.

Children also experienced a “safe, homely, inviting and well-cared for” environment.
