Police officer suffers ‘serious leg injury’ after chaos outside City Wall on Rochester High Street

A police officer suffered “serious injuries” to his leg following a brawl outside the bar.

Several people were involved in the altercation, first inside and then outside the City Wall. Rochester High Street, around 10.20pm on Saturday 2 November.

Police teams were in the city as part of routine patrol duty during this period.

Several members of the public suffered minor injuries and two police officers were also attacked, one suffering a serious leg injury.

While 6 people were detained regarding the incident, 5 people were referred to the courthouse.

Those charged in connection with the incident are as follows:

• Jim Aaron Stevens, 20, of Love Lane, Headcorn, was charged with affray, common assault and assaulting an emergency worker.

• Jimmy King, 18, of no fixed address, was charged with using threatening, abusive language with intent to fight and cause/incite fear of unlawful violence.

• Jim Stevens, 41, of Headcorn Road, Ulcombe, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm, assaulting an emergency worker and affray

• Micky Stevens, 34, of Manor Green Road, Epsom, Surrey, charged with affray

• A 15-year-old boy from Headcorn charged with common assault. He was bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on November 28.

A 19-year-old man from Sittingbourne who was arrested has been released pending further investigation.

Jimmy King, Mickey Stevens and Jim Stevens will appear at Folkstone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 4.

Jim Aaron Stevens is expected to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on the same date.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to police.
