Man identified in Muskingham boat crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) – The man involved in a boating accident earlier this month has been identified.

An ODNR incident report identified the dead man as 55-year-old David Lyle Lashley of Ohio.

The report indicates that around 7:30 p.m. on October 20, as the two men were returning to the ramp, the vessel struck an object in the water, causing the driver and passenger to be ejected.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) — Crews responded to a fatal boating accident in Ohio Sunday evening.

This is what we know so far.

Two people were ejected from the boat after it hit something in the water, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

One of them went back to the boat and took the other person back onto the boat.

They then went to a private dock in the 500 block of River Road to get help.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office, ODNR Natural Resource officers, EMS and Wildlife Officer responded to the scene.

When crews arrived, one of the individuals was found unresponsive, according to ODNR. Heart massage was performed by the emergency services, but it was unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

ODNR was unable to find out exactly where the crash occurred and could not confirm what the boat hit.
