Goulais man faces multiple charges in child pornography investigation

Police issued a search warrant on November 1

A Goulais River man is facing multiple charges in a child pornography investigation that began Oct. 3.

Police alleged via social media that “the defendant, in a conversation with an adult he did not know, expressed interest in engaging in sexual activities in front of and with his minor children.” Sault Ste. Marie Police Department.

“The defendant made arrangements to meet for these purposes.”

The statement also alleges that “the defendant also linked to a website containing numerous written stories about incest and young children having sexual intercourse with adults.”

“Additionally, the defendant advised the adult with whom he spoke to teach sexual acts to his minor children in preparation for sexual intercourse with the defendant.”

Following a search warrant executed on November 1, Michael Slivinsky, 44, of Goulais River, was arrested and charged with:

• Access to all types of child pornography
• Admitting to committing a sexual offense against a person under the age of 16 x2
• Counseling for uncommitted crime – sexual assault
• Make written child pornography x2

Slivinsky was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on November 25.

None of the allegations have been tested in court, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
