Benjamin Netanyahu official arrested over leak that may have blocked Israeli hostage deal

Details of the investigation came after Khalil al-Hayya, deputy head of Hamas’ politburo, said in a video speech that Hamas would not return Israeli hostages “until the attack on our people in Gaza is stopped.”

He also commemorated slain Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, saying his martyrdom would strengthen “our resistance.”

Meanwhile, in new violence in the West Bank, Israeli settlers set fire to 20 cars on the outskirts of Ramallah.

About a dozen attackers wearing masks and carrying tear gas grenades are said to have targeted the Al Bireh area around 3 a.m. on Monday.

It was also reported that Hebrew graffiti was found on a nearby wall that read “In Judea and Samaria – war,” a reference to the Biblical name of the West Bank.

Police and the Shin Bet security agency said they were investigating the attacks.
