(Sports)The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is demanding more than the suspension of President Chung Mong-gyu. So, do you know the Korean Football Federation?

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, which has been supervising the Korean Football Federation since July, demanded that President Chung Mong-gyu be given severe disciplinary punishment beyond suspension.

The reason is that it is carried out arbitrarily and unfairly, from the appointment of the national team coach to the construction of the football center, and it is not yet known whether measures will be taken.

Reporter Lee Dae-gun’s report.

The most important issue in the announcement of the final inspection results of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is also the appointment of a coach to the national football team.

As in the interim announcement made last month, the appointment process of directors Hong Myung-bo and Clinsman was unfair and opaque.

Additionally, the problem of the construction process of the football center was added.

He stated that he signed a 61.5 billion won loan agreement without the approval of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and created an unspoken office space in the process of receiving a 7.7 billion won government subsidy.

It was also found that 42 national team leaders had not gone through the board appointment process and had unfairly exercised their right to pardon 100 disciplinarians.

Based on this, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s action against Korean Football Federation president Chung Mong-kyu is a request for serious disciplinary action beyond the suspension of the qualifiers.

This includes ‘dismissal’ and ‘dismissal’.

The Korean Football Association is supposed to announce the results within a month following the disciplinary decision, but with President Chung Mong-gyu resisting, it is doubtful whether this will actually happen.

(Choi Hyun-jun / Inspector General of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism: According to the current regulations, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has the authority to request disciplinary action, and the Expo Committee of the Korean Football Federation will decide on this matter.)

The measures taken against the appointment of current head coach Hong Myung-bo are also bowing their heads.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has informed them to improve procedural issues, including re-election, but ultimately the Korean Football Association is in a position to deal with this matter.

This means that Hong can be reappointed through a new process.

(Choi Hyun-jun / Inspector of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism: The Korean Football Association will have all options whether to continue, change or cancel the contract signed with coach Hong Myung-bo. This is the matter of Korean Football. The association will decide autonomously.

This is how the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s inspection, which started in July when public opinion about the Korean Football Federation began to deteriorate, concluded.

We have to wait and see how the request for disciplinary action and related measures will be made in the future, but another discussion may arise.
