Highway 109 in West Babylon is closed due to crash involving pedestrians, police say

A serious pedestrian crash forced the closure of a portion of Route 109 in West Babylon early Tuesday, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the incident occurred around 6.30am when a vehicle hit a pedestrian, but details are still emerging.

While police did not indicate the severity of any injuries, they did say Crime Scene unit detectives were at the scene and the road between Arnold Boulevard and Golding Boulevard was closed until further notice. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
