Indiana man sentenced to prison for trying to get 4-year-old Stark County child into car

STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – A 41-year-old Indiana man arrested for trying to get a four-year-old boy into his vehicle in exchange for money at a gas station pleaded no contest Tuesday in Massillon Municipal Court.

Adam Prather was convicted of child seduction and sentenced to five years probation and 40 hours of community service.

He did justice to the 23 days he spent in prison.

According to Jackson Township police, Prather was on Whipple Ave. on Oct. 15 around 6:45 p.m. The child was with her father when he approached her at the Sheetz in the 2900 block of NW.

The child involved in the incident escaped unhurt.
