Riverdale schools close due to ‘threats of violence’

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Both Riverdale High School and Riverdale Elementary School were closed Tuesday after the Riverdale School District received an email containing “threats of violence.”

The district said they and other “Riverdale” schools across the country received the threatening email and activated their internal security protocols.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and the Portland Police Bureau were immediately contacted and a search of both campuses confirmed that both buildings were secure.
