Driver arrested for reckless driving on I-91 in Windsor

WINDSOR, Conn. (WFSB) – At 9:40 this morning, troopers arrested 24-year-old Myles Edwards of Windsor following an aggressive driving incident.

A trooper attempted to stop a car traveling between 90 and 92 mph near exit 38 on southbound I-91. The car failed to stop when police activated its emergency lights.

After calling for backup, the second soldier managed to stop the car. According to a press release from the Windsor Police Department, the driver left Edwards’ car in an agitated state after this stop. This led to the trooper detaining Edwards in handcuffs, but he resisted and the trooper called for a backup unit.

Edwards was tasered by troopers and then handcuffed after resisting verbal commands.

Following medical treatment, Edwards was transported to Troop-H Hartford. Edwards is charged with reckless driving, failure to obey a police officer’s signals and interfering with a police officer.

He is being held on $10,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Dec. 3.
