Bauchi Police Command announced that a 2-year-old girl was raped and killed in Bauchi, the capital of the state.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, in a statement on Tuesday, said Ningi Police Divisional Headquarters received a report that the unmoving body of a two-year-old baby was found near a mosque in Deneva Street, Ningi Local Government Area. , there are signs of suspicion of rape.

Wakil said, “Upon receipt of the report, detectives were dispatched to the scene and the victim’s body was taken to Ningi General Hospital, where the medical report confirmed that the baby suffered severe injuries as a result of penetration, which led to his death.

“The State Commissioner of Police, Auwal Mohammed, has directed the District Police Officer to make extra efforts to nab the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“He also called on parents and guardians not to allow their children to wander the streets and to ensure their safety.”

The command also asked for the public’s help with any useful information that could help apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators.
