3,000 km in 7 months with my CB350 RS: 7 reasons why I recommend it

All in all, this is a perfect alternative for those who have always wanted a retro-looking bike but were afraid of owning a Royal Enfield.

BHPian abhinav.s I recently shared this with other enthusiasts

CB series bikes are simple, air-cooled 350s that are easy to operate and not difficult to maintain. I own the RS and have completed around 300km in 7 months with about 300km of highway travel as well as a few city tours.

1. Comfort is very good and more than 90 minutes of riding without a break when necessary can be done without any problems.
2. It has enough thrust and stability to keep it steady on highways at 100 km/h without any vibration, with excellent control during emergency braking (occurring in 2 or 3 cases where the bike did not lose its composure and did not veer off the line into the single digits) 60+ kmph), very good brakes and a very light grip.
3. Valve/thrust noise etc. from the side of the engine head. No unpleasant/undesirable sounds such as
4. The RS has a great exhaust note that also sounds stock and booms!!
5. The 15L tank gives a tank range of 400+ km/pl coupled with close to 35-36 kmpl which suits my riding style and this helps in unknown places where fuel quality might be questionable.
6. This is subjective but the RS in matte gray looks great in action with minimal body work and I completely de-chromed the bike with matte black parts from the special edition I ordered and installed on my bike.
7. The service at both Big Wing Mysore and Bangalore remains good enough and no new problems have arisen after the service, which is a big concern for the untrained mechanics who handle our machines.

All in all, this is a great alternative for those (myself included) who have always wanted a retro-looking bike but were afraid of owning an RE. As adi.mariner points out, a few stray incidents like a bad service center handling the bikes unprofessionally turned this into a defensive-defense issue! While we as a community certainly sympathize with the owner who was cheated by the service centre, this alone should not deter others from at least trying the bike on a long test ride before making their decision.
