2 dead, 1 injured in shooting at recording studio on Detroit’s west side

Detroit – Two people died and one person was injured in a shooting at a recording studio on Detroit’s west side.

The shooting occurred at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the 15344 block of W. McNichols Road.

Authorities said two men flagged them down while on patrol and the two men were shot in the recording studio.

“The incident was contained as it was this afternoon and there is no threat to the community as the shooting occurred inside the location,” Detroit Deputy Police Chief Jacqueline Pritchett said.

Officers said they responded and went to the scene and found three people shot, including a deceased Black man and a Black woman and another Black man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The injured man was transported to a Metro Detroit hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical.

“(The shooting) This must be scary for everyone because no one wants to be in a neighborhood where people are getting shot,” Pritchett said. “The Detroit Police Department is talented. We are here. “We are heroes and I am confident that this crime can be solved.”

A homicide team is handling the situation and is examining Ring doorbell cameras that could have caught anyone leaving the scene.

“If anyone saw or heard anything, please let us know,” Pritchett said. “If you see something, tell me. You can call 1-800-Speak-Up, DetroitRewardsTV or call homicide at 313-596-2260.
