Deerfoot Trail crash under investigation

Emergency crews are at the scene of the crash on Deerfoot Trail, which closed the northbound lanes of the highway near 16 Avenue NE.

Authorities said the accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. in the northbound lane of the highway.

As of 7:30 a.m., police closed a section of Deerfoot Trail due to the collision.

Authorities said a truck overturned at the scene and one person was taken to the hospital.

It is unknown how long the highway will remain closed.
