Savannus Mallet accused of stabbing another man

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A Huntsville man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man Tuesday night.

According to the Huntsville Police Department, around 6:30 p.m., around the 2200 block of Memorial Parkway, an officer was on patrol in the area when he was flagged down by a citizen in the parking lot of a nearby motel.

Police later found a male victim on the ground with what appeared to be stab wounds.

Witnesses told police that the victim and the suspect allegedly argued with the suspect, who attacked the victim with a knife.

Police said witnesses gave them a description of the suspect and officers were able to locate a suspect matching the description.

Later, a male suspect was detained within the scope of the investigation.

Police said the victim was transported to Huntsville Hospital with serious physical injuries. Authorities believe this is an isolated incident.

Police said the suspect was identified as Savannus Terone Mallet, 27, of Huntsville.

He was arrested and charged with First Degree Assault. He was sent to the Madison County Jail. His bond was set at $10,000.
