A man has denied murdering a 19-year-old woman who was found stabbed in a car park at Crawley railway station.

Jason Flore, 26, of no fixed address, pleaded not guilty to the murder and manslaughter of Stephanie Marie at a hearing at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday.

The hearing date was set as February 3, 2025.

The mother, who was described as having “her whole life ahead of her”, was noticed to have been stabbed at around 7.10 on the morning of August 18, and was declared dead by paramedics.

The family previously stated the following in a statement made by the British Transport Police (BTP): “We are deeply saddened that his young life ended in this way. He had his whole life ahead of him.

“He was good at sports at school and loved basketball, football and gymnastics. We will miss him very much. Life will never be the same.”
