Found dead in Ohio Co. baby’s grandmother now in jail on child abuse and drug charges

OHIO CO., Ky. (WFIE) – Baby Miya Rudd’s grandmother, Taletha Tucker, was booked into the Ohio County Jail on Wednesday.

The 50-year-old man is charged with criminal abuse of a child 12 or younger, controlled substance endangerment of a child and hindering prosecution or apprehension.

We reached out to Kentucky State Police for information about the charges.

As we reported, Taletha Tucker arrested in Daviess County I returned with a search warrant in June.

This occurred during the investigation into Miya’s disappearance, but troopers say they found nothing connected to the incident at the time.

Miya was missing for weeks until troopers said her remains were found at her family’s home in Reynolds Station.

Among the seven people arrested during the investigation were Miya’s parents, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd.

Troopers say Taletha’s new arrest was because she was granted custody of Tesla’s children, but she violated a court order and allowed them to stay with Tesla.

Troopers said the children’s hair samples tested positive for meth and marijuana.

They also say that they learned that Taletha gave Tesla and Cage a large sum of money to avoid being caught and to prevent this investigation from starting.
