Suspects charged after Fairbanks burglaries

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) – Alaska State Troopers (AST) say two people have been charged following a double burglary in Chena Ridge.

On October 19, a resident reported that his property was broken into and valuable metals, 7 firearms, ammunition, and tools were seized.

AST conducted surveillance on the property, believing the perpetrators would return for more, and the next day, AST allegedly watched the suspects break into the home and steal. They caught 24-year-old Fairbanks resident Morris Saunders and 23-year-old Bettles resident Aidan Musser as they attempted to leave the property while allegedly driving a stolen vehicle and armed with stolen handguns.

In the following days, troopers said they executed search warrants and found not only the burglary victim’s stolen property, but also an ATV, dirt bike, trailer and gun that had been reported stolen in other open cases in the Fairbanks area.

On October 30, Saunders and Musser were indicted on burglary and theft charges, and Saunders was also charged with weapons misuse.
