Notre Dame’s Huge Advantage Over FSU in This Crucial Situation

Notre Dame’s Huge Advantage Over FSU in This Crucial Situation

Florida State’s offense is incredibly awful

Just one season after going 13-0 in the ACC, Florida State is now 1-8, leaving one wondering how everything in the program has regressed and fallen apart. Morale is low. Criticism is high.

The questions are many, the answers are nowhere to be found. The last thing the Seminoles want to do this week is travel to Notre Dame to face the Irish in South Bend.

Florida State’s offensive line is stinky. Either way, the QB play wasn’t good enough and winning plays can’t be made.

The Seminoles currently rank 133rd out of 134 teams in PPG and are averaging just 14 points. Let’s say the offense struggles a little at the wrong time.

Notre Dame’s defense should be able to feast

The worst thing about Florida State’s team is its offense. The best thing about Notre Dame is its defense, which consists of a top-five unit that allows just over 12 points.

This is a big problem for the Seminoles, especially on the road and possibly in cooler, wetter conditions.

I expect the Irish defense to destroy any offensive hopes left behind by the Seminoles and set the tone for a November to remember for Notre Dame as they march towards a CFP berth. Florida State’s biggest weaknesses directly align with Notre Dame’s strengths.

All the Irish have to do is be who they are, get their shit together, and move on.
