Savon Tyler charged with allegedly killing Lauren Martin during Facebook livestream

A Florida woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly shooting and killing another woman in a social media livestream video, according to police.

Savon Tyler, 35, charged first degree premeditated murder and remains in the Seminole County Jail without bond, according to jail records.

Tyler is accused of killing 34-year-old Lauren Martin after an argument at Greystone Townhomes escalated into a physical fight Tuesday night, the Sanford Police Department said.

Sanford police said officers responded to a shooting at Travertine Terrace just after 7 p.m. Tuesday and found a woman, later identified as Martin, in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds.

The woman, who was taken to the hospital due to her injuries, died.

Police determined that an ongoing argument led Martin to Tyler’s home.

When Tyler saw Martin at his home, he armed himself with a “miniature children’s baseball bat” and a “9mm sky gun,” according to court records reviewed by local outlet WESH.

“Today, a family mourns the loss of a loved one because someone chose to resolve their dispute with violence. What started the argument between these two will not be remembered, but Lauren’s loss will remain with her family and friends forever,” said Sanford Chief Cecil Smith.

Smith asked people to remember: “There is Options other than violence.”
