Nearing the end of his South African tour, Prince William is preparing to make his final engagement in the country before his return flight to England.

The Prince of Wales visited the National Sea Rescue Institute on Thursday to meet volunteers at Simon’s Town harbor in Cape Town.

William was photographed aboard the NSRI Lifeboat Donna Nicholas on his way to meet the crew.

In the update shared on the official social media account of the Prince and Princess of Wales, the station team shared an update from the venue.

“We’re the station 10 crew from Simon’s Town,” a member of the station said to the camera. “And Prince William is here today to talk to us about what we do here on a daily basis.”

William was warmly welcomed by hundreds of locals as a special guest at a Cape Town braai, or barbecue, in Kalk Bay Harbour.

The visit highlighted the contributions of Abalobi, a 2023 Earthshot Prize finalist founded in South Africa to protect small-scale fishing communities and nurture ocean stewardship, while also educating customers about the origins of seafood.

Prince William is expected to fly home on Thursday after quickly completing remaining duties in South Africa.
