The man was found dead, the woman was detained after the police reported a fight at home: JSO

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a man was found dead in a home on West 12th Street in the city’s Durkeeville neighborhood early Thursday morning.

Police said officers were called to the home just west of Myrtle Boulevard at 3 a.m. for a report of an “altercation with injury.”

While the police found the man dead at home, a woman was detained at the scene. Investigators said he was the person who called 911.

Police did not say whether the man was injured or how he might have died.

JSO said the case is awaiting classification as the circumstances of the death and the relationships of those involved are not yet known.
