Kerr spoke to reporters on Wednesday ahead of his team’s game against the Boston Celtics and opted to take the high road.

“I’m thankful there wasn’t any fraud this time. Last time it was illegal immigrants who crossed the border, raped people, killed people and then voted six times, which was unfortunate,” Kerr said.

His mention of rape and immigrants did not excite social media.

“Steve Kerr should be ashamed of himself. Laken Riley and other innocent Americans were raped and murdered by illegal immigrants… How deaf can you be?” one user said.

“No, that second paragraph made no sense.” added another.

Another said Kerr’s comments were: “absolutely disgusting” and “The American people must give him the justice he deserves.”

“I believe in democracy. I believe in the will of the people. I will do everything I can to support my country and our government. I want nothing but the best for us. This is a complicated world,” Kerr added. “There are a lot of interesting things going on, from wars abroad to the global economy changing everything for our citizens and their daily lives. I’m very aware that I live in a bubble and I’m one of the luckiest people in the world, so I want the best for us, I hope Trump can achieve that .”

Kerr was asked what his message to the team was and he gave Trump’s slogan while trying to keep the basketball tight.

“In our meeting this morning, I told them, ‘Let’s make America great again and beat the Celtics.'”
