CCTV footage shows the woman alone before falling from the 10th floor; Lucknow cops question husband

While the family of the deceased claimed that he was killed and thrown out of the building, the police were investigating the claims.

LUCKNOW CCTV footage showing a woman walking alone towards the stairs before falling from the 10th floor of the apartment building at 5.16pm on Wednesday was seized by police on Thursday.

The woman, 35-year-old Preeti, daughter of a retired judge, reportedly died after falling from the 10th floor of her flat in Vrindavan Yojana Zone 12. According to police officials, the incident occurred around 17.40 in the evening. While her family claimed that Preeti was killed and thrown out of the building, the police were investigating the allegations.

The woman’s two sons, ages 11 and 3, who were in the apartment when the incident occurred, survived.

A police official confirmed that Preeti’s husband Ravindra Narayan Dwivedi was brought to the police station for questioning as part of the investigation. Cops were investigating the circumstances surrounding his fall.

“On Wednesday evening, we received information that the woman fell from the 10th floor of the apartment. We also received a complaint from the family that her husband pushed her to death. Further investigations are on,” said PK Singh, additional deputy commissioner of police (east). The husband, a legal officer in a state-run bank, told investigators that his wife was being treated for schizophrenia and might have committed suicide.
