Ja Morant Reveals Two Very Personal Reasons Why He Doesn’t Like the Lakers

The Memphis Grizzlies’ impressive 131-114 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday may have been personal for star Ja Morant.

Completing the victory with 20 points, Morant spent the whole night on the court with Lakers’ Lebron James at the FedEx Forum. It all started when James taunted Morant with a “very small” celebration After a big chase in the second quarter, the two players continued to battle throughout the entire game.

Morant talked about the competitive moments he had with James after the Grizzlies’ victory, telling reporters that he “expected” that from the Lakers star but “will not back down from anyone.”

He then went on to explain why he has a slight grudge against the Lakers.

“I don’t like them,” Morant said. “They took me out of the playoffs. We had a game last year and they came here and came onto our house floor while I was in street clothes… (James) was the next guy on our schedule. Actually, the Lakers, I won’t even mention that… They beat us on our home floor. They’re laughing, they’re playing, they’re looking at me.” , they were talking. My message was that I was in street clothes.”

The Lakers eliminated the Grizzlies in the first round of the 2023 NBA playoffs in a series that included a 40-point blowout in Game 6, the worst loss in Grizzlies playoff history.

Then, in last year’s post-regular season matchup, James and the Lakers appeared to have a little too much fun beating a struggling Grizzlies team without Morant and Desmond Bane.

Morant and the Grizzlies have had a questionable history with the Lakers recently, and that probably won’t change anytime soon. Memphis’ next game is a home game against the Washington Wizards on Friday.
