Emmerdale star reveals the saddest part of casting has finally been fixed | soaps

Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson)’s life is about to change suddenly Emmerdale Newly returned Tina Dingle (Samantha Power) is actually his mother.

We saw Tina appear at the graveside as the family holds a funeral for Zak (Steve Halliwell). It was clear from the reactions of the older members of the family that Tina was not welcome, but Mandy (Lisa Riley) in particular looked extremely upset.

‘Tina is definitely a loud character,’ recalled Bradley Johnson. ‘But then we saw that Mandy was acting very suspiciously towards him.’

It soon becomes clear that this is because Mandy has been keeping a secret for Vinny’s entire life. Tina is actually Vinny’s biological mother, and Tina used this fact to blackmail Mandy into helping her take over the Wishing Well.

‘We saw it during the quarantine events’ Mandy really opens up to Vinny “I’m going to tell him the truth about what’s going on and his growth,” Bradley said.

‘Mandy told him a story about how his real mother and grandmother didn’t want him. He told Vinny everything, and he gave clues about his past Before Mandy. ‘I felt like he was happy with it.’

But it isn’t long before Tina ruins the close mother-son relationship between Mandy and Vinny by telling Vinny the truth: that he is her son. Bradley told us what happened.

‘We see the scene where Vinny comes out of the Dingles and Mandy walks up and off-screen Tina has clearly told Vinny all about Tina being her real mother.

‘I think Vinny is devastated because his trust in Mandy and everything Mandy has told him has been a lie his whole life. ‘I think Vinny is quite aware of what Mandy is like, she lies through her teeth sometimes, but she never thought she’d tell Vinny such a big lie and I think she’s just angry, distraught and completely resentful of Mandy.’

It obviously means a lot to Bradley that his character is a real Dingle.

‘Being a biological Dingle is amazing,’ he confirmed.

“When I first came on the show all I was told was that I was playing Mandy’s son, then I found out I wasn’t Dingle and that was a bit sad. Everyone wants to be a blood Dingle.

‘Then when I found out I thought it was a great change and a great opportunity to become a real Dingle. ‘It’s a great feeling when I find out that Zak is my real grandfather and that I’m actually blood.’
