Version of Image Playground iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2 and macOS Sequoia The 15.2 betas only offer animation and illustration as style options, which leaves us wondering if sketching might be added later.

Looks like the answer is no, as Apple has removed Sketch from the app Image Playground app description. ‌Image Playground‌ used to list three styles as design options, but it was updated to two and the line about Sketch was removed. Here’s what was removed:

The highly detailed and academic Sketch style produces gorgeous drawings on plain backgrounds.

The updated app description only mentions animation and Illustration.

The animation style offers an interesting, 3D cartoon look with expressive characters and cinematic environments. His illustration style is defined by strong outlines, simple shapes, and bold colors that make for refreshing and fun compositions.

While Apple has updated the Style section of the ‌Image Playground‌ app description, three style options are incorrectly mentioned at the top. “Powered by ‘Apple Intelligence,’ ‌Image Playground‌ lets you transform descriptions, concepts, or people from your photo library into original, fun images in three unique styles.”

Draft is also still listed as an option on Apple’s website It highlights “Apple Intelligence” features, but Apple will likely remove these remaining references soon.

It’s unclear why Apple decided to remove the drawing option from “Image Playground” or whether drawing or other styles will be added in the future. In its current form, ‌Image Playground‌ in iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and ‌macOS Sequoia‌ 15.2 will only include animation and illustration as style options. Updates are planned to be released in early December.
