Bellmead man arrested after allegedly sending sexually explicit content to what he believed to be an underage girl

BELLMEAD, Texas (KWTX) – A Bellmead man was arrested after sending sexually explicit images and videos to what he believed to be an underage girl and attempting to meet them for sex, an affidavit alleges.

Brandon Tackitt, 36, is charged with online harassment of a minor in a juvenile facility, fraudulent use/possession of credit/bank information, and prohibited substances.

According to an affidavit, on November 6, 2024, Lt. McGee of the Bellmead Police Department was monitoring an undercover social media account used for investigative purposes, pretending to be a 15-year-old girl.

According to the affidavit, Lt. McGee noticed that a profile bearing Tackitt’s name had messaged the account on November 5th.

Tackitt then posted images and videos of a naked man to the account, and Tackitt was notified that he was talking to a 15-year-old girl, the affidavit states.

Tackitt apologized but continued to speak to the account, the affidavit states.

Tackitt soon told them he could get in trouble for talking to a 15-year-old boy and asked the account if they were doing drugs, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit alleges Tackitt then began using suggestive language to describe sexual acts he would perform with what he believed to be a 15-year-old girl and said he would have sex with her.

Authorities later located and arrested Tackitt.

During the arrest, authorities discovered Tackitt was in possession of multiple debit/debit cards belonging to other individuals.

Additionally, Bellmead police said Tackitt was found to be in possession of a controlled substance during his arrest.

Tackitt is being held in the McLennan County Jail on a total bond of $15,000.
