Main Roads issues heavy traffic warning ahead of Tate McRae concert at Red Hill Auditorium

Motorists have been warned about road closures and heavy traffic in the Red Hill area ahead of pop star Tate McRae’s concert tonight.

The 21-year-old Canadian singer will take the stage at Red Hill Auditorium at 21:00 and thousands of fans will wait to hear her most popular songs.

On Friday, Main Roads advised motorists traveling through the Swan City that the westbound lane on Toodyay Road would be closed from 3pm until midnight.

Traffic management and a reduced speed limit will also be implemented.

Around 5,000 McRae fans are expected to fill the venue for his only sold-out Perth performance, with the venue’s doors open from 6pm.

While the outdoor venue is popular for large music events, some fans were surprised to discover it was “in the middle of nowhere.”

“Wait a minute… Someone tell me why the venue for Tate McRae’s Perth show is nowhere in the middle of the tramp?” one fan said on X.

Another said: “Tate McRae announces he’s coming to Perth Australia but is he literally heading to the middle of nowhere????”

Ahead of his big night kicking off the Australian leg of his Think Later tour, McRae spent Thursday embracing the WA sunshine on Rottnest Island.
