Suspect arrested in Duluth burglary

Third update as of Nov. 7: Duluth Police Department reports the 58-year-old male suspect was arrested in St. Louis on multiple charges of first-degree burglary, 2nd-degree assault, menacing. He was reportedly booked into the St. Louis County Jail. kidnapping for violent and serious crimes.

Second Update as of November 7: The Duluth Police Department reports that it has arrested a male suspect in a burglary spree that began on Thursday, November 4, at approximately 3:15 p.m. They also reported that the incident was ongoing and the incident was ongoing. He stated that it is under investigation and no additional information will be released at this time.

Update as of Nov. 7: On Thursday, Nov. 7, the Duluth Police Department provided an update on a series of ongoing burglaries. Duluth Police Department Public Information Officer Mattie Hjelseth reported that another robbery occurred in the 2500 block of E 2nd Street on Wednesday, November 6, around 9 p.m.

“The initial investigation indicates that a white male entered the residence and the person inside fled,” Hjelseth said. “They fell while escaping and suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the fall. Officers quickly responded and established a perimeter. “After a K9 track, drone deployment and scanning the area, the male was not located.”

Chief Mike Ceynowa asked for the community to be vigilant and said the Department is actively trying to apprehend the individual.

“We share our community’s concerns and are working tirelessly to hold this individual accountable for his actions,” Ceynowa said. “We have personnel investigating the area around the clock and will continue to use our resources and surrounding partner agencies to make arrests.”

Original Story: The Duluth Police Department reported a series of burglaries during the week of November 4th.

The first burglary was reported in the 200 block of West Kent Road, and a subsequent burglary was reported on Nov. 5 in the 1500 block of Vermillion Road. Both thefts were reported between 18:00 and 20:00.

“During the initial investigation, it was determined that a person, identified as a white male, entered both residences and threatened those inside. “One resident in the West Kent Road incident was transported to a local hospital by Mayo Ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries,” explained Duluth Police Department Public Information Officer Mattie Hjelseth. “Two residents in the Vermilion Road incident were also transported by Mayo Ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. “He was transported to a local hospital.”

The Duluth Police Department believes the incidents may be related. They are asking the community to contact the department at 218-730-5050 or text 847411 if they see anything suspicious.
