Sports car burst into flames as vlogger in the Philippines gives glowing review of the vehicle

In the Philippines, an influencer and transgender activist narrowly escaped a fiery death on November 7 when a sports car she was driving suddenly caught fire just as she was recording herself giving it a glowing review.

Miss Angie Mead King, 44, could be seen vlogging about the Acura NSX she was driving in a three-minute video she posted on Instagram.

Then, two minutes later, he noticed flames shooting out from the back of the car.

“Wow, wow! Fire! Fire!” he could be heard saying.

In the final minute of the video, he is seen driving the car to the side of the road, frantically getting out of the car, and then trying to grab the car’s diagnostic scanner.

However, he was only able to save his GoPro camera and bag.

Ms. King, a former race car driver, often documents her car modification projects on social media.

After modifying the car, he was recording a video praising its performance and handling.

“It’s a very different car now. It’s definitely very torque-y. I’m only at 50 percent throttle because we haven’t tuned it yet,” he said.

He said a supercharger had been installed to boost the car’s engine and that it “fits in, sounds good”. You can actually hear the engine whirring.

He was starting the engine when a fire broke out in the engine compartment.

In a separate Instagram post in which he shared a photo of the partially charred remains of the sports car, he described the experience as “traumatic to say the least.”

“A fire extinguisher would not have put out the flames at all,” he said.

“I’m fine (but) my lungs hurt because the car was on fire as I was driving and the car fell to the ground and literally burst into flames,” Ms. King recounted.

He said it could be a “fuel problem.”

Despite the near-fatal driving, he said he would buy an NSX again, calling it a “pure driver’s car.”

“But for now,” he said, “I’ll live another day.”
